The Minecraft Tamed Wolf with Red Collar, often referred to as the Minecraft Dog, is a helpful animal companion found within the Game Minecraft. They are domesticated versions of the wild Minecraft Wolf.

Wolves were added to the Game in Java Edition Beta 1.4. However, the ability to tame them by using bones, and therefore adding the red collar signifying ownership, was implemented shortly after in Beta 1.4, around February 2011.

Once tamed, the Dog will follow the player and attack any mobs the player attacks (excluding creepers). The red collar is a visual indicator of their tamed status and ownership.
